No commentsFrom the Bridesmaid’s Point of View…..
Hello all… One of the more stressful moments in planning your wedding will/may be selecting the dresses for your Bridesmaids to wear. If you have several Bridesmaids in your wedding party, you are surely dealing with many personalities. From the Bridesmaid’s perspective, here are a few things that are important to her when it comes to the Bridesmaid’s dress.
- Will the dress flatter her body type/shape and size?
- The dress should be budget friendly.
- One of the top requirements is will/can they wear it again?
Certainly, this is your wedding and you have the final say on the Bridesmaid’s dress selection. However, these are your friends and family that are sharing in your beautiful day, be considerate of the items listed above. Many different dress designers are now offering more budget friendly and versatile designs for the girls. Shop in Dream is an online store with a low price point. I would caution to measure accurately when ordering any sizes, as you won’t have the opportunity to try the dress on before ordering. Here are a few of our favorites from their 2010 Bridesmaids line.

These hair adornments can be worn during the whole wedding day or only at the reception to promote the idea of a second assemble/look for the reception. They are romantic, flirty, and elegant all at the same time.

No commentsSay Goodbye to boring Ties…
Hello everyone. Many Brides and Grooms are foregoing the traditional tuxedo as the attire for their guys and opting for nice suits. They are requesting that their Groomsmen wear/buy charcoal grey, black, navy or tan suits. This is oftentimes more logical for the Groomsmen as they will surely need to own a nice suit for future events in their lives. A nice gift that the Bride and Groom can give to their Groomsmen is the tie for the wedding. If you go this route, select a fun and colorful tie that will compliment the colors of your wedding. Below are two stores that offer a variety of ties at great prices.

No commentsFavors with Flavor
Hello to all! Gone are the days of giving your wedding guests “tchotchke/knick-knack” type favors such as bookmarks or matchbooks or sewing kits. All guests like favors with flavor. If you take it one step further and make the favor display or presentation have as much of the WOW factor as the rest of your decor, then you have hit a home run for the favor selection for your wedding. Of course we have to give you some inspiration to get you started in the right direction!

No commentsSign of the Times…..
Hello everyone…. Adding details to a wedding or event is what sets it apart and makes it special. A really special detail is signage. I came across a vendor who creates cottage vintage style signs – The Family Attic Shoppe. This family run business has been making these signs for decades. Each sign is unique. They can be used in your wedding to add that special touch and detailing that is an unexpected pleasure for your guests.
Detail #1: Welcome your guests with a beautiful sign.
Detail #2: If your wedding and reception is at the same venue, provide signage to show where each part of the wedding is being held. This style lends itself to beach weddings, Private home/tented weddings, country chic/farm/barn weddings, and weddings held at vineyards/wineries.
Detail #3: Have the Ring Bearer carry this sign before you walk down the aisle. How cute would it be to have him say the words “Here comes the Bride!!!”.
Detail #4: Take a photograph with the “Thank You” sign and use it as your thank you cards after the wedding.
Detail #5: Take a photograph with the “Just Married” sign to remember your big finale.

No commentsBridesmaid Style…
Hello all. I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend! In our blog entry entitled, ”Boutonniere with a Twist”, we discussed selecting a slightly different boutonniere for each of the Groomsmen to add a bit of uniqueness to your wedding. Now, let’s do the same for the Bridesmaids. There are many ways to set the Bridesmaids apart. One of my favorite options is to select the same dress for all of your Bridesmaids, but allow them to select a different accessory for their hair. In the picture below, each Bridesmaid has used her individual style to accent her look. Love it!!!…
