Ring Bearer – What Shall He Carry?

Happy Monday! The Ring Bearer is a cute little guy between the ages of four to seven who carries the wedding ring(s) in the processional.  The pillow is normally white and the rings are metal or foil copies.  The Best Man and Maid of Honor hold the real rings.  With that, why not add some pizzazz or an unique touch to what the Ring Bearer carries?   You have worked really hard to add that special touch to every aspect of your wedding, let’s do the same for the Ring Bearer.  Below are a few really cute and unique ideas:

  1. Robin’s Egg Nest -  Garden Side Studio is a designer on Etsy that offers a Robin’s Egg Nest that would be a perfect accessory for your Ring Bearer.  The ribbons and eggs come in different colors to match your wedding theme.
  2. Ring Bearer’s Bowls – Paloma’s Nest offers a beautifully made small ceramic bowl for the Ring Bearer to carry.  It can be engraved with a special saying and used later on to hold jewelry or as a keepsake.
  3. Ring Bearer Flower Pillow – Your floral designer can make a pillow shape out of flowers and adorn it with a ribbon to put a spin on the traditional Ring Bearer Pillow.

Enjoy!!!

Lighting – To Be or Not to Be?

Good day to you… In response to the title, my vote is “To Be”!  Lighting is a part of the design scheme that can be overlooked oftentimes due to budget.  One would be surprised to know that basic up-lighting is quite affordable.  Shown below are two ways to use lighting to personalize the design and to add drama to the room.

Personalization:  Gobo lighting can be added to the reception to project an image onto the floor, ceiling, or wall.  Shown here are monograms and names that have been projected onto the dance floor and the wall.  This adds such an elegant feeling to the reception.

Drama: Up-Lighting can accent the wall of the room by adding splashes of color.  These walls were bare white before and look at how a few lights adds a beautiful visual effect.

Fun Table Cards

Hell everyone…. So we all know the purpose of a Table Card – it identifies your table.  Your guests will have the table name or number on their escort card and be able to locate their designated table by way of the Table Card.  In the past, using a number to identify the table was popular.  Now you can use many themes and/or names to identify your guests’ tables:

  • Names of a city where something special occurred in your relationship, i.e. engagement…
  • Wine theme…
  • Names of cities you will visit on your Honeymoon…
  • Name of movies…

A really fun idea is to use a number but add pictures of the you and/or your fiance at that age (Table 1 for Age 1, Table 2 for Age 2, etc.)

Aisle Style….

Hello everyone… Oftentimes wedding design concepts are centered around the reception.  Understandably so, as your guests spend most of their time at the reception.  This blog entry, however, is dedicated to the ceremony decor.  The ceremony is the most important part of your wedding.  This is the part of your day when you seal your sacred vow with your loved one and unite in holy matrimony.  If your ceremony is held in a church, there may not be much need for elaborate decor as many churches are beautifully adorned already.  If you do need to spruce up your ceremony, a key element to dress up is your aisle!  The aisle leads you and the guests to the alter and is the main pathway at the ceremony.  Here are a  few ideas to dress it up:

Accent the aisle with an unique lighting design.

Hang miniature lanterns on the center aisle chairs.

Place simple flower arrangements down the aisle.

Have your florist or designer create a neat pattern of roses down the center aisle.
