Hello everyone…. Adding details to a wedding or event is what sets it apart and makes it special.  A really special detail is signage.  I came across a vendor who creates  cottage vintage style signs – The Family Attic Shoppe.  This family run business has been making these signs for decades.  Each sign is unique.  They can be used in your wedding to add that special touch and detailing that is an unexpected pleasure for your guests.

Detail #1:  Welcome your guests with a beautiful sign.

Detail #2: If your wedding and reception is at the same venue, provide signage to show where each part of the wedding is being held.  This style lends itself to beach weddings, Private home/tented weddings, country chic/farm/barn weddings, and weddings held at vineyards/wineries.

Detail #3:  Have the Ring Bearer carry this sign before you walk down the aisle.  How cute would it be to have him say the words “Here comes the Bride!!!”.

Detail #4:  Take a photograph with the “Thank You” sign and use it as your thank you cards after the wedding.

Detail #5:  Take a photograph with the “Just Married” sign to remember your big finale.

Hello all.  I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend! In our blog entry entitled, ” with a Twist”, we discussed selecting a slightly different for each of the Groomsmen to add a bit of uniqueness to your wedding.  Now, let’s do the same for the Bridesmaids.  There are many ways to set the Bridesmaids apart.  One of my favorite options is to select the same dress for all of your Bridesmaids, but allow them to select a different accessory for their hair.  In the picture below, each Bridesmaid has used her individual style to accent her look.  Love it!!!…

Good day to you… So what do you think of Moss?  Can it be incorporated into the design details of a wedding?  Most certainly!  Moss can be used to enhance your Shabby , French Country, , Rustic, and themed weddings.  It adds an element of roughness, texture, and elegance all at the same time.

Spotted Leopard is a on Etsy who has really mastered the use of Moss in a classy and elegant way.

Hello all.. The smart and economical way to dress your tables is to rent the linens.  If you want to add some pizazz to the table , consider buying a few table runners.  The runners can accent tables throughout the reception area and/or be used on the satellite tables (Gift, Sign-in, , etc.)  You would only need to buy a few of these to add to the overall design theme.  To get good use out of money spent on these items, pull them out at Christmas or Thanksgiving and use them to decorate the tables for your family and friends.

Floratouch is a on Etsy that makes beautiful table runners at an affordable price.

Below are some of our favorites from Floratouch

Happy Monday! The is a cute little guy between the ages of four to seven who carries the wedding ring(s) in the processional.  The pillow is normally white and the rings are metal or foil copies.  The Best Man and Maid of Honor hold the real rings.  With that, why not add some pizzazz or an touch to what the Ring Bearer carries?   You have worked really hard to add that special touch to every aspect of your wedding, let’s do the same for the Ring Bearer.  Below are a few really cute and ideas:

    1. Robin’s Egg Nest -  Garden Side Studio is a designer on Etsy that offers a Robin’s Egg Nest that would be a perfect accessory for your Ring Bearer.  The ribbons and eggs come in different colors to match your wedding theme.

    1. Ring Bearer’s Bowls – Paloma’s Nest offers a beautifully made small ceramic bowl for the Ring Bearer to carry.  It can be engraved with a special saying and used later on to hold jewelry or as a keepsake.

  1. Ring Bearer Pillow – Your floral designer can make a pillow shape out of flowers and adorn it with a ribbon to put a spin on the traditional Ring Bearer Pillow.

Enjoy!!!

Good day to you… In response to the title, my vote is “To Be”!  is a part of the design scheme that can be overlooked oftentimes due to budget.  One would be surprised to know that basic up- is quite affordable.  Shown below are two ways to use to personalize the design and to add drama to the room.

Personalization:  Gobo lighting can be added to the reception to project an image onto the floor, ceiling, or wall.  Shown here are monograms and names that have been projected onto the dance floor and the wall.  This adds such an elegant feeling to the reception.

Drama: Up-Lighting can accent the wall of the room by adding splashes of color.  These walls were bare white before and look at how a few lights adds a beautiful visual effect.

Hell everyone…. So we all know the purpose of a Table Card – it identifies your table.  Your guests will have the table name or number on their escort card and be able to locate their designated table by way of the Table Card.  In the past, using a number to identify the table was popular.  (more…)

Hello everyone… Oftentimes wedding design concepts are centered around the reception.  Understandably so, as your guests spend most of their time at the reception.  This blog entry, however, is dedicated to the ceremony decor.  The ceremony is the most important part of your wedding.  This is the part of your day when you seal your sacred vow with your loved one and unite in holy matrimony.  If your ceremony is held in a church, there may not be much need for elaborate decor as many churches are beautifully adorned already.  If you do need to spruce up your ceremony, a key element to dress up is your aisle!  The aisle leads you and the guests to the alter and is the main pathway at the ceremony.  Here are a  few ideas to dress it up:

Accent the aisle with an unique lighting design.

Hang miniature lanterns on the center aisle chairs.

Place simple flower arrangements down the aisle.

Have your florist or designer create a neat pattern of roses down the center aisle.

Hello all… So I have to admit that I didn’t watch the Sex and the City TV series.  However, I did see the movie.  I was laughing with tears rolling down my eyes.  It was hilarious.  How is this relevant?  Well, Carrie wore a dramatic bird cage veil in the movie {part I}.  It sparked my interest.  I found LoBoheme on Etsy.  This vendor creates masterpieces that are so beautiful.  You can view her items on Etsy.com

Hello there…When it comes to boutonnieres for the Groomsmen, automatically, the thought is to give them all the same boutonniere design and just make the Groom’s boutonniere larger.  If you are up for something different, why not make each boutonniere a bit different?  Just make sure that the flowers in each boutonniere ties into the Bridesmaids flowers to keep the design concept flowing.  See an example of varying boutonnieres within the same design theme below…

Good day to you all… Ok, so what does, “Raise the Cake” mean?  Raise the Cake is  a company that designs cake stands for your wedding cake.

Many brides are opting to have smaller wedding cakes on display to cut.  They also have a large sheet cake in the kitchen for their caterer to cut, plate, and serve to their guests. This is a way to save on the cost of buying a large tiered wedding cake with all the bells and whistles. This is a great idea used by many brides today. However, this does leave you with a relatively small cake that is displayed. (more…)
