Are you looking for a unique way to have your guests “Sign-In” when they attend your wedding?  If so, this post is for you.  Cottage Creek Arts is a wonderful vendor on Etsy who creates hand painted and custom made original wedding canvas and signs.  We love these wedding canvas designs.  You can customize your canvass with color selections and of course your name and wedding date.

This item is the called the thumbprint guest canvas.

You would receive a canvas like the one shown below to be displayed at your wedding.  As your guests enter the ceremony, instead of signing a guest book, they would “sign” this canvas.  Signing, in this instance, consists of a thumbprint.  You can purchase ink at your local craft store and lay it next to your canvas for your guests to use.  Don’t forget to purchase moist wipes or towelettes for the guests to wipe their finger clean after they are finished.  If you like, they can also sign their names after they finish applying their print to the canvas.

This would be your finished product after all of your guests have “signed” the canvas.

If you don’t like the idea of your guests dealing with ink and applying their thumbprint, you can purchase a Leaf Canvas instead.  This vendor will paint the wedding tree with leaves.  All your guests would do is to sign one of the leaves as they enter your ceremony.

You can request different backgrounds to compliment the theme of your wedding.  Shown below is a wedding tree on the beach for a beach themed wedding and a wedding tree in a pumpkin patch for a fall themed wedding.

All of these options create a unique and beautiful piece of artwork that can be hung in your home as a reminder of your wedding day.

If your budget doesn’t allow for these fabulous and over-the-top floral arrangements, work with you have.  What I mean by that is, find the best feature that your ceremony location has and use that as your focal point to create your stunning look.

If you are getting married on a beautiful farm, find a fabulous oak tree and use it as your backdrop.

Again, with two beautiful trees as your backdrop, you can add vintage urns filled with lavender bushes down the aisle to create a garden feel.

Look how the magnificent mountain view adds to this ceremony’s decor.

If you don’t have a particular focal point for the ceremony, create drama with beautiful parasols flanking the end of the aisle with your initials.

Or place the parasols at the beginning by the altar and add a neat rose petal design down the center of the aisle.

 The invitation is your guests first glimpse at what’s to come for your wedding.  When I see these colors on an invitation, I anticipate a different and unique wedding experience.

The orange color really pops against the black and stands out as a vibrant accent color in the flowers and attire.

The decor is where you can really have a lot of fun with varying shades of orange.  This will add depth and dimension to your design making it more pleasing to the eye.

And we can’t forget a nice cocktail to end the evening!

Detail #1:  Welcome your guests with a beautiful sign.

Detail #2: If your wedding and reception is at the same venue, provide signage to show where each part of the wedding is being held.  This style lends itself to beach weddings, Private home/tented weddings, country chic/farm/barn weddings, and weddings held at vineyards/wineries.

Detail #3:  Have the Ring Bearer carry this sign before you walk down the aisle.  How cute would it be to have him say the words “Here comes the Bride!!!”.

Detail #4:  Take a photograph with the “Thank You” sign and use it as your thank you cards after the wedding.
