Many fashion designers are coming up with new designs for blushing brides.  One trend that has held on for quite some time is the “Strapless” wedding gown.  It is seen as an elegant and modern look for a bride of any size.  To add interest to the strapless gowns, designers are making the neckline at an angle, or adding sheer or lace fabric to give an illusion of sleeves or a bolero jacket.  These touches gives this familiar design an unique and interesting flair.

Cascading bouquets were very popular in the 70′s and 80′s.   The trend was a bouquet design that was free flowing with minimal structure.  The wedding bouquet that Princess Diana carried on her wedding solidified the trend.  The current trend is a more structured hand tied bouquet that is tight and neat.  Why not reach back into past years and combine a little of the free flowing design element with the more structured look?  Below are a few examples of such a combination. Summer is the time of the year for swimming, trips to the beach, and planning the perfect Nautical/Beach Themed wedding!  The Nautical theme is filled with many fun elements that should be used as touches here and there.  You don’t want to go into overload with the theme.  Here are a few subtle ways to infuse the Nautical theme into your dream wedding day! I hope this Friday finds you happy and joyful! So a new trend with hairstyles for your big day is an elegant braid.  Braiding can be incorporated in an up-do, side ponytail, or weaved into beautiful curls.  Here are some of our favorite styles with braids for weddings.

Bridal Season is well underway.  Many of you are diligently researching venues and vendors for your big day.  We would like to feature a beautiful venue today – Historic St. Mary’s City.   This outdoor museum sits atop a hill that displays a beautiful Tidewater landscape along the St. Mary’s River, a tributary of the Potomac. Being the fourth permanent settlement in British North America and Maryland’s first capital, this location not only offers a breathtaking scenery, but is rich with history as well.  This unique venue offers many locations on their property to host your ceremony and reception.

This past Sunday, Historic St. Mary’s City hosted its’ first Annual Bridal Show. Many vendors displayed their talents and products to anxious and excited brides.  We participated in the show as well.  Please see photos below of our Victorian Silver and Lilac Booth display.  Thank you to Jax Photography for taking such beautiful pictures of our booth.    

I must say that I have become a “Pinterest-aholic”.  I am so a visual person.  So, to be able to create boards filled with pictures of styles, products, ideas that represent you is exciting.  I was “pinning” pictures to my “Board” called “Bridesmaids Styles” and realized just how much I love the one shoulder dress design.  Many of the dresses in this board has a version of that feature.  I am drawn to this design because it is fun and stylish.  Your bridesmaids would certainly appreciate a style that they feel good wearing and would love to wear again.  Please enjoy viewing a few of these designs shown below.

It was wonderful meeting so many new brides and grooms at the Hall at Huntingtown Bridal Show this past Sunday.   It was an excellent show with wonderful vendors and a fabulous fashion show.  We displayed a “Handsome Table Design” which accented the theme of the Inspiration Room which was “All About the Groom”.  The color scheme was black, red, and gold with black feather accents and chocolate cigars!  That was a hit with the grooms and dads that stopped by our booth.
