Hello all…. In the first part of October, we had the pleasure of assisting a wonderful couple bring their spectacular vision of a “Vintage-Chic” themed wedding to life. Ashleigh and Kevin were wed at the Historic Sotterley Plantation located in Hollywood, MD. The “Vintage-Chic”themed wedding vibed so well with the rustic barn and historical feel of the venue. Ashleigh created the amazing color palette that ranged from dark colors of chocolate browns and deep purples to light colors of champagne and light purple. The bridesmaids’ beautiful cocktail dresses were a perfect match! Ashleigh carried an elegant bouquet of flowers wrapped in lace and secured by a timeless broach.

Sign of the Times…..

Hello everyone…. Adding details to a wedding or event is what sets it apart and makes it special. A really special detail is signage. I came across a vendor who creates cottage vintage style signs – The Family Attic Shoppe. This family run business has been making these signs for decades. Each sign is unique. They can be used in your wedding to add that special touch and detailing that is an unexpected pleasure for your guests.

Detail #1: Welcome your guests with a beautiful sign.

Detail #2: If your wedding and reception is at the same venue, provide signage to show where each part of the wedding is being held. This style lends itself to beach weddings, Private home/tented weddings, country chic/farm/barn weddings, and weddings held at vineyards/wineries.

Detail #3: Have the Ring Bearer carry this sign before you walk down the aisle. How cute would it be to have him say the words “Here comes the Bride!!!”.

Detail #4: Take a photograph with the “Thank You” sign and use it as your thank you cards after the wedding.

Detail #5: Take a photograph with the “Just Married” sign to remember your big finale.

Good day to you… So what do you think of Moss? Can it be incorporated into the design details of a wedding? Most certainly! Moss can be used to enhance your Shabby Chic, French Country, Vintage, Rustic, and Vineyard themed weddings. It adds an element of roughness, texture, and elegance all at the same time.

Spotted Leopard is a vendor on Etsy who has really mastered the use of Moss in a classy and elegant way.

Hey there… I hope you all had a great week. TGIF!!! I came across a wonderful vendor – The White Aisle. This is a company that offers an amazing line of jewelry, invitations, favors, etc. with a vintage feel while at the same time “Gives Back” to those who are less fortunate. There is a link on their website that features a line of products whose profits (100%) goes to aide and assist the young girls and women of Cambodia. What a wonderful thing – to be able to purchase a beautiful item to use at your wedding while helping someone else less fortunate….

Good day… So, here is another “dyfferent” (different) idea for you. ) How about using vintage umbrellas to add to your bridal/bridesmaids look? Bella Umbrella offers a vast selection of vintage, plain, pagoda, etc. umbrellas for rent or sale. Check out a few pictures from their gallery to show how some of their clients used their unique umbrellas.

As you can see, there are many ways to the umbrella. It can add a touch of color, texture, and functionally-shade.

A less expensive option maybe to purchase paper parasols. Luna Bazzar offers wide variety of colors and patterns in their paper parasol collection. If you purchase in bulk, you can save money.

2. Antique Car - The same goes for an antique/vintage car. Clean it up and add some decorations and signage to celebrate your union! )

3. Boat – If your wedding has a waterfront view, use the river or bay as an unique getaway or arrival showstopper!!! Your guys can even enter the wedding scene on a boat like James Bond “007″. It will make him feel like a star. )

Burnt Orange and Fucshia Bursting with Gold…

Hello all….

I am working with a fabulous couple who have chosen a fun and vibrant color scheme – Burnt Orange and Fuchsia with Gold accents. After working with these colors for months now, all I can say is how AWESOME! Check out some photos we have collected as “inspiration” for their October wedding. Their wedding theme is “Vintage Glam”. The Vintage theme is very popular right now with details of dangling jewelry, gold accents, and tall centerpieces. Shannon and Jay will have Fuchsia as their main color with the Burnt Orange adding another layer. All of the candles, candelabras, and charger plates will be gold. The invitations even have very scriptive calligraphy accented with gold brush strokes to add to the grandeur of their theme. Check back soon for actual pictures of their fabulous wedding!!! )
