Hello to you all… As you prepare and plan for your wedding, there are so many traditional acts that take place during a wedding ceremony and reception. Two such acts that we, wedding planners, get questioned on all the time is the Garter & Bouquet Toss. Many Brides want to know if it is necessary. The answer is “no”. It is certainly a tradition that most guests expect to occur during the reception, but the world won’t end if you don’t include it in your reception planning.

If you would like to incorporate a splash of something in between dance sets, here is my absolute favorite thing to do:
“Longest Time Married Dance or Anniversary Dance” – Call all the married couples on the floor. As the song plays, ask the couple(s) who have been married 5 years or less to take a seat. Keep going in 10 year increments, until you have the last couple standing. They will have been married the longest. Ask them to offer a few words of wisdom to you and your fiance. A nice touch would be to give them the “toss bouquet” that was going to be ripped apart by all the single ladies. {smile}
