Flower of the Hour

Hello all… Happy Friday!  We recently planned a wedding with a peacock theme.  The color scheme was teal and purple with dark accents.  One of the main flowers in the bouquet design was the “Anemone”.  This flower comes in many different colors, but the center is mainly dark.  The bouquets were drop dead gorgeous! {Pictures to follow soon.}  So, we had to share our love of anemones for all of you planning your wedding and looking for a unique, edgy, and beautiful flower.

We looked on Teleflora’s website for the meaning of the flower:

THE MEANING & SYMBOLISM OF “anemone”

The name anemone comes from the Greek word for “windflower.” According to
Greek mythology, the anemone sprang from Aphrodite’s tears as she mourned
the death of Adonis. Thought to bring luck and protect against evil, legend has it
that when the anemone closes its petals, it’s a signal that rain is approaching. Still
other mythology connects the anemone to magical fairies, who were believed to sleep
under the petals after they closed at sunset. Perhaps it’s because of this magical and
prophetic tales that today in the language of flowers, anemones represent anticipation.

Here is some eye candy for you {smile}:
