Less Guests = Smaller Wedding Cake?

Hello all,

For the past couple of years, the average number of guests attending weddings has decreased from 200 to 150.  This number is more the norm for couples who are paying for weddings themselves and managing to their budgets.  How does this translate to the wedding cake?  Fewer guests means there is not a need for a large wedding cake.  With this being the case, many brides still want a beautiful wedding cake that makes a statement.  One way to achieve this is by increasing the size of one or more of the layers.  This makes the overall cake larger and more stately.

Another option is to have a display of smaller cakes. This makes the cake table interesting and can add to the decor.
