Hello all,

Happy Monday!  We are blessed with so many great couples this year.  Here is another wonderful couple we have the pleasure of working with this fall – Alyssa and Corey.   They will be celebrating their union this September on the lush grounds of Herrington on the Bay located in central Calvert County, MD.

Here is their story in Alyssa’s words:

Corey and I met through mutual friends the summer of 2012. I was actually home from college at the time. We started to text and talk here and there. He had extra concert tickets for an Eric Church concert. I didn’t have a ticket and of course waited until the last minute to even think about buying one, so he gave me an extra ticket! Let’s just say I had a little too much to drink and he wound up driving me back to my friends house that night lol. We hung out a few more times after that riding mopeds, going to the movies, etc and we have pretty much been inseparable since that concert!

::The Proposal::

My family moved to Indiana in November of 2013.  I had just graduated college and found my first job as a registered nurse and was not willing to leave Corey behind, so I did not move with them. Instead Corey, his mom, and his brother let me move all of my stuff in and live with them. As sad as I was, I knew I was right where I needed to be with Corey by my side.  We knew we were perfect for each other. So to my surprise, just 2 short months after, Corey planned the funniest sweetest surprise “pull over proposal”. We actually had a day date on January 4th to go to Annapolis and grab a bite to eat at Cheesecake Factory. However Corey had a little bit more in store for us that day. On our way there he had his officer friend Phil (who i had never met) pull us over lights and all in the KMART parking lot in Prince Frederick. After the officer gathered all of his information he came to Corey’s window and said he needed to step out of the vehicle. I was SO confused, it’s not like Corey to get in trouble with the cops! So a few minutes later the officer comes to my window and tells me I have to drive Coreys car to the station and meet them there because Corey had some outstanding violations that needed to be solved. Mad and confused, I got out of the car and started to walk around to the drivers side. When I walked around I saw Corey on one knee. But he isn’t the only person I saw, he actually had a bus full of our closest family and friends in the parking lot so they had all gotten out so they could witness the whole thing! On that bus was my family who had flown in from Indiana so they didn’t miss a beat! I don’t even remember what he said because I was an emotional mess between being pulled over, saying “YES” to my soon to be husband, and seeing my family all within 10 minutes. After I stopped crying all 15 of our closest family and friends joined us for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory in Annapolis!! It was the best day of my life so far!
